Property Managers and Building Owners to Benefit from City Spec’s Safety Inspection Technology
New York City, June 16, 2008 -- City Spec, Inc. today announced that it will begin providing facade inspection services throughout the five boroughs of New York through a partnership with MJM Engineering, PLLC.
City Spec’s facade inspection services are automated through software that manages inspections and client data and greatly increases the efficiency and accuracy of the facade inspection process. All inspection information is easily accessible for customers online via the Internet.
The exterior facades of all buildings in NYC that are greater than six stories in height must be inspected every five years. This includes commercial, residential, institutional, industrial, and educational buildings irrespective of the nature of their construction (masonry, glass, stone, brick). Approximately 12,000 buildings in NYC are covered by this law.
“The increased accuracy and efficiency enabled by City Spec safety inspection software benefits property managers, building owners and others,” said Stephen Kleva, President and CEO of City Spec. He continued, “Our safety application has been used successfully widely throughout NYC in the boiler inspection market since 1995.”
“We are pleased to be partnering with City Spec to offer automated inspections of facades in the New York City market,” stated Marc Levinn, P.E., Senior Partner, MJM Engineering.
The comprehensive functionality of City Spec technology enables inspectors to use mobile Tablet PCs in the field that synchronize with a back-end database. They can schedule inspection routes and upload and download job details including inspection data, façade inspection records, prior inspection results, routes, and contact information. The software also initiates billing and inspection notification and checks NYC Department of Buildings processing dates to guarantee compliance.
City Spec was founded in 1992 to perform inspections on low-pressure boilers within the city of New York. City Spec’s parent company, Insparisk, is a national safety inspection company with software solutions that manage safety inspections for boilers, facades/escalators, fire detection/suppression systems, building facades, HVAC equipment, and electrical panels. Stephen Kleva is President and CEO. For more information on City Spec, visit www.cityspec.com.
