DOB Adopts New Code For Boilers

Glendale, NY - June 10, 2008 -- Beginning July 1, 2008 New York City’s Department of Buildings (DOB) new Construction Code will go into effect. In this new code there will be significant changes to the inspection and filing procedures associated with the annual low pressure boiler inspections. Namely, inspections reported with deficiencies must be corrected, re-inspected and filed with an Affirmation of Correction form within forty-five days of the date of the original inspection.

If you wish to have City Spec perform your re-inspection you must, in the following order:

  1. Make all repairs as noted in the BO-13 (as provided by City Spec) in a timely manner by a licensed professional
  2. Call City Spec at 718-849-4900 to request and schedule your re-inspection
  3. Sign the “Owner Acknowledgement” section under #7 on the BO-13 and return it to City Spec

It is the owner’s responsibility to have the defects remedied in a timely manner and prior to the re-inspection. City Spec does not perform any repair work. City Spec will not be held liable for any violations that result from the owner’s tardiness in making repairs or scheduling a re-inspection with City Spec.

If you have any questions please do not hesitate to call our office: 718-849-4900.
